Primavera a Roma

Primavera a Roma is a collection of landscape paintings inspired by Rome, capturing the city’s ancient beauty and the atmosphere of spring.

Behind These Paintings of Rome

Artistic Concept

In Primavera a Roma, I bring together the delicacy of spring and the endurance of ancient Roman architecture to arrive at a deeper understanding of how life unfolds. What appears fragile at first — like the return of life after winter — reveals an inherent strength and a continuous drive toward growth. While nature and stone seem to belong to different worlds, they're ultimately connected by a quiet resilience.

The collection explores different perspectives on these two states: some works lean toward growth and delicacy, depicting Mediterranean gardens, trees and flowers, as in Rosemary and Voice of the Nymph. Others, such as Divine and Like Marble, explore the perspective of enduring stone, focusing on qualities of permanence, structure, and quiet strength. Roman Forum can be understood as a culminating work of the collection, bringing together both perspectives — the vitality of spring and the enduring symbolism of ancient Rome — into a single, unified composition.

Ultimately, Primavera a Roma suggests that strength can emerge through vulnerability, and that it’s in these quiet moments of resilience that a deeper sense of beauty can be found.

Verona panorama of Ponte Pietra bridge, contemporary Mediterranean-style painting

Garda  x  Verona

Garda x Verona is a collection of landscape paintings inspired by Verona and Lake Garda, where the calm presence of water meets the elegance of Northern Italian architecture.

Behind These Paintings of Verona and Lake Garda

Artistic Concept

In Garda x Verona, I explore landscapes in Northern Italy, tracing the shifting space between distance and closeness. The collection is rooted in a subtle sense of longing — a desire for homecoming — mirrored in the faraway shores of Lake Garda and the opposing banks of the Adige River in Verona. Hazy blues and greens shape a quietly melancholic, reflective atmosphere.

The motifs of the bridge and the passage are explored in works such as Ponte Pietra and Round Arch, offering different perspectives on the feeling of crossing an inner threshold. The wide-open landscapes create space for contemplation, allowing thoughts to emerge, mirrored in the water as a carrier of emotion. Garda x Verona becomes a visual journey in search of answers that remain just out of reach — and ultimately unresolved within this body of work.

Sunsets

Sunsets is a body of work inspired by the light and landscapes of the Mediterranean, capturing the fleeting beauty of dusk in all its variety.

Behind These Mediterranean Sunset Paintings

Artistic Concept

In Sunsets, I explore life as an ongoing journey — ever-changing, always evolving, and as rich in colour as the light of a setting sun. Whether golden hours, blue hours, or soft pastel skies, each work evokes a distinct mood, united by a shared theme. In this collection, truth is elusive — light reshapes landscapes, turning an ocean into a sea of melancholic thought or the sky into a bright golden dome. It becomes a metaphor for how personal journeys, though universally shared, can differ. Their meaning literally depends on the light through which we view them. Ultimately, each piece in Sunsets captures a unique convergence of light, landscape, and atmosphere, highlighting life itself as an artwork in its own right.
